SUMMARY:May26 Month End Rideout
DESCRIPTION:Full members month end group rideout. \nMeet Location : Starbucks A46 (to Stratford) \nMeet Time: 0900 \nBrief: 0915 no brief\, no ride \nRide Leader – Dave Toogood \nTail End Charlie – TBC on the day \n  \n\n\n	Who's coming?\n\n	14 people are attending 3-Day Trip Through Lincolnshire and Norfolk \n	\n Martin Ward\n	\n Sarah Evans\n	\n Craig Duggan\n	\n Paul Maddock\n	\n Chris Johnson\n	\n\nPLEASE READ BELOW \nAttendance of the ride out confirms you have read and understood the ride rules and confirm that your motorcycle has valid insurance\, tax and MOT (if required) and if it is a full members month end ride you have a valid RoSPA Test Pass (at Bronze\, Silver or Gold) with an active RoSPA membership. You also confirm that you have self-assessed IAMSAFE prior to the ride and are fit. \n\nIllness: You should check for any symptoms or illnesses that might affect your physical ability to control the machine or react to hazards.\nMedication: Assess whether you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications—such as antihistamines for hay fever—that might cause drowsiness or otherwise impair your physical performance.\nSleep: You must evaluate if you are suffering from fatigue or a lack of sleep\, as tiredness significantly reduces alertness and slows reaction times.\nAlcohol: Determine if your system is still affected by any residual alcohol from previous consumption.\nFood: Check for hunger or thirst; low blood sugar or dehydration can negatively impact your concentration and judgement.\n\nRIDE RULES: \n\nPlease arrive with a full tank of fuel\nBike must be roadworthy and legal\nWear or carry appropriate clothing for the ride\nEnsure you have the mobile number for the ride-leader\nNo deliberate backing-off within the group\nNo overtaking within the group\nObserve the rules of the Highway Code\nAlways ride within your own capabilities\, do not ride outside your own limits\nAll riders are responsible for their own vehicle should a breakdown occur\, cover is recommended\nAttend the pre-ride brief held by the ride leader\n\nRIDE ETIQUETTE: \nTake responsibility for the rider behind you\, prior to moving off familiarise yourself with the following rider and the rider ahead of you. You’re responsible for making sure they don’t get lost and break up the ride. When making a change of direction and the following rider is out of sight\, wait and mark the direction change (stop in a safe location where you can be seen) until they arrive. When safe\, move off briskly allowing the following rider to take up your position marking the direction change. \nDo not ride slower where there is no turn-off to allow the rider behind to catch up\, this usually has the opposite effect and elongates the group. \nLook for safe and legal overtaking opportunities. While there is no overtaking within the group\, it is beneficial to make progress and safely overtake other road users to maintain the flow of the ride. Blindly overtaking or blindly following the bike in front is not expected from an advanced rider. Anticipating\, preparing\, and then executing overtakes safely without delay or loss of available overtaking distance should be the norm for RoSPA advanced riders.
