Overtaking Course

Overtaking is perhaps one of the most hazardous aspects of riding that we perform. It its also an important part of making progress. Prior planning is essential in order to accomplish a safe and successful overtake. The aim of the overtaking course is to learn and put into practice the essential skills contained in Roadcraft in a safe enjoyable environment.

This years overtaking course is being held on the roads in the Ansty/Brinklow area using the Coombe Hall Conference and Events as a base. The circuit of roads has been chosen because of the varied overtaking opportunities that can be provided. The club has the use of a couple of vehicles, both being driven by volunteers. The day will start with a briefing about overtaking (a pre read of the overtaking chapter in Roadcraft is recommended). Riders will then be split into groups under the supervision of at least one Tutor. They will then follow the vehicles being driven by volunteers in order to practice and perfect the art of overtaking.

Spaces are limited and on a first come first served basis.

As this is on road group training all attendees to ensure they wear their hi-viz.
